Billy Thompson Trio

Guitar works that have electrified audiences from coast to coast, throughout Europe and everywhere in between, set the tone for this veteran blues man’s sizzling performances, combining world class slide guitar and searing licks with soulful vocals and original music—a unique amalgamation of blues styles, with rock, funk and r&b. Some say, “It’s like Hendrix meets Little Feat!”

He has played with legends such as Little Milton, Albert King, Earl King and Art Neville, while opening for the likes of Robert Cray, B.B. King, Sonny Landreth, The Neville Brothers and Joe Cocker, to name a few. He has performed with the San Diego Symphony. He also performed for the grand opening of Los Angeles House of Blues.

Billy has been invited to play with icons, the Doobie Brothers, Bill Payne, John Mooney and Ron Holloway…”Billy also served as musical supervisor for Geva Theatre’s 2015 “Journey to the Son,” in Rochester, NY. A tribute to Son House and will provide musical direction again for Keith Glover’s “Revival” in May of 2019 at Geva Theatre, based on the life of Son House.

Billy’s current cd, “BT” made the Top 25 on the Living Blues Radio and Roots Music Report Charts. It features his current trio, Eric Selby (drums) and Erie native Gene Monroe (bass)
