Twenty Thousand Strongmen

Doors 3:00pm • Music 11:00pm

The Abilene debut of Buffalo-based Bluegrass/Freak-Folk outfit TWENTY THOUSAND STRONGMEN!

Twenty Thousand Strongmen is…Mikee Pruitt – banjo, guitar, vocals, etc. Cat Glasgow – vocals, ukelele and piano Gregory Mach – fiddle and vocals Anthony DiPasquale – bass

They are a midwestern grown, old timey folk band that is now based out of Buffalo, NY. They have been playing their honest and soul lifting melodies for over eight years, both as a duo and a four piece string band.

Twenty Thousand Strongmen have shared the stage with many great artists like Wayne Hancock and William Elliott Whitmore, and have released five albums, three of which were released on Kansas City based record label Little Class Records.

Cat and Mikee have been touring the country from Buffalo to Tucson twice a year for the past five years and visited Europe in April 2017 following their newest release “ Your New Album” in March.

“Your New Album” is by far the best and simplest the Strongmen have ever sounded. Mikee’s Canyon rich voice seems to glide alongside complex fiddle melodies and rhythmic banjo thumpin. These ethereal yet light hearted songs are reminiscent of old souls like Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie while still making original and timeless folk songs that we can all relate to.
