 Ladies of The Canyon

 Singer/Songwriters Kelly Izzo Shapiro and Siena Facciolo pay tribute to the great women of Rock and Roll by putting their spin on classic music from the 1960’s through today. Featuring songs by Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Grace Slick and more! Kelly and Siena will explore how songwriting has evolved and discuss how these musicians have influenced their own creative journeys. 

  Kelly Izzo Shapiro graduated Summa Cum Laude from the music conservatory at SUNY Purchase. She has written over 4,000 songs. Alice Unraveled, Kelly’s first musical, was performed as a developmental reading at the acclaimed New York Musical Theater Festival in June 2013. Her second Musical, Silk & Cinders, was produced in Rochester, NY in April 2018. Kelly is currently working on a musical that she developed as Writer in Residence at CAP 21 in Manhattan.  Kelly is a Woody Guthrie Songwriting Contest winner (2009) and is a member of the Andrew Lippa Songwriting group "Writer's Bloc”.

 Siena Facciolo is a singer-songwriter, educator, and podcast host. A classically-trained pianist and vocalist, Siena holds a B.A. in Music from the University of Rochester. Her 2018 debut album ‘Dear House’ is "an impressive collection of well-crafted chamber pop songs driven by earnest, piano-centric arrangements and colored with tinges of jazz and classical music" (CITY Newspaper). Siena hosts monthly conversations with creatives from Rochester and beyond for her podcast, The Process, in which she gathers wisdom on how to lead a creative life. Siena has a unique voice: rich, powerful, and intimate, with memorable original songs that sound like Carole King meets Fiona Apple.
