Jed Curran featuring an All-Star Cast of Musicians

Jed Curran is a folk Americana singer-songwriter based in Rochester, NY, known for crafting grounded, thoughtful songs that reflect the richness and complexity of a life well-lived. He first picked up a guitar in the fifth grade and has been playing ever since — eventually channeling decades of perspective, loss, love, and humor into his songwriting.

His third solo album, One Song at a Time, follows Morning Pages (2007) and After the Rainfall (2013). It's a mellow, reflective collection — the kind of record you want to put on with a cup of coffee and nowhere to be. The songs offer pearls of wisdom born of time and experience, touching on everyday moments, mortality, and the enduring beauty of simplicity.

Jed’s writing is honest and unpretentious. He can make a dog chewing a bone into the heart of a song, or share spiritual insight, like in “Sermon to Myself,” without sounding self-righteous or heavy-handed. There’s a deep sense of humanity in his music — a quiet resilience and a recognition that we all go through it, especially in the later chapters of life.

The new album features a stellar lineup of Rochester’s musical elite, including John Dady, Gary Holt, Loren Barrigar, Ethan Porter, Jimmy Mcavaney, Connie Deming, Steve Piper, Mark Terranova, Charlie Curran, John Michael Ryan, and Perry Cleaveland.

Jed also co-hosted the cherished open mic at the Flipside for six years alongside Jeff Riales, helping to nurture Rochester’s singer-songwriter community. A seasoned performer and natural storyteller, Jed Curran offers listeners not just songs, but moments of clarity, comfort, and connection.

We’d like to ask all those coming to this show to help us in supporting the Dimitri House, which provides food and housing for those in need. They’re facing a high demand and are in need of non-perishable food items, such as tuna, peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti sauce, and pasta. We’ll be collecting these items at the show. Thanks much and please check out www.dimitri-house.org
