Heart Throbs String Band

The Heart Throbs String Band blends folk, Eastern European swing jazz, and American roots music into something that feels both timeless and fresh. Rooted in American roots music and branching out in all directions the band pulls from Django jazz, Western NY traditionals, and their own songwriting to build something that swings hard and settles deep. Whether they're putting their spin on a classic standard or introducing an original tune, The Heart Throbs have a knack for making audiences feel like they've stumbled into their living room for an intimate house concert. Step into their world and you'll find Gabrielle Kosoy's lush vocals weaving through intricate, earthy arrangements. Hannah Garfield and Sean Peek bring ripping chops and fearless energy to every tune, while Dan Lynch and Micah Wiesner lay down driving rhythms and solos that keep your foot stomping and your heart wide open. Together, these five musicians don't just play songs — they build something in the room that's equal parts soulful and sophisticated.

Finger Lakes and Rochester friends playing old time, jam grass and original tunes

Band members are Chris & Cordelia (mandolin, guitar, banjo), also of the bluegrass band Mulberry Soul. Collin Bay (dobro, pedal-steel), a multi-instrumentalist coming from a storied musical family, has collaborated with Becca Stevens, Michaela Anne, Anthony Lamarca, and others. Aaron Oldweiler (upright bass), has been a staple of the upstate scene in both Dirty Blanket and Mulberry Soul. Fabio Garote (cajón), was a founding member of Chilean band Wentru which perfored at SXSW. We're sometimes joined by guests including fiddler Jason Richards, hailing from Houston, TX.
