Kelley’s Heroes Presents…

Bootleg Heroes: A Full Night of Elvis Costello!

Rochester and Elvis Costello have unfinished business. In 1979, fresh off his first ROC show at the Auditorium Theater, Costello swaggered into Scorgie’s on Andrews Street and things went sideways! Legend has it he snapped at the owner to fetch him a cigarette, and Don Scorgie sent him right back out the door. As the story goes, Abilene owner and local promoter Danny Deutsch witnessed the whole sordid affair!

Forty-some years later, Bootleg Heroes are bringing Costello’s songbook to Abilene Bar and Lounge, the way that night should have gone the first time, this time in the perfect club atmospher. Angry young man, Fender-guitar-slinging wordsmith with a chip on his shoulder-the singer-songwriter who couldn’t sit still in one genre long enough for the critics to peg him.

For Bootleg Heroes’ debut: a night of Elvis Costello, curated by a deep fan. One relentless set. Do NOT miss it-and don’t get kicked out of Abilene….
